HOT TANK BASICS
A hot tank is a basic cleaning machine and is the traditional way to clean engine parts such as engine blocks, cylinder heads, and so on. The hot tank is simply a big metal tank with a very caustic hot water solution in it. The parts are submerged in the solution and allowed to soak for many hours, so the solution slowly circulates around them.
OUR Engine CLEANING PROCESS
The hot tanks contain a caustic hot water solution that is capable of removing the heaviest oils, dirt and grime while stripping most paints from the ferrous surfaces. The engine parts are submerged in the solution for many hours, allowing all the internal galleries and passages to be completely cleaned. However, a caustic hot tank does not remove rust from ferrous items.
Aluminum Parts? No problem! We can clean all aluminum parts with the parts washer that contains a soap detergent or utilize our high-pressure steam washer. Either way, the parts will become clean without damaging the soft aluminum metal. Aluminum parts cannot be cleaned in a hot tank, because they would dissolve.
